Printer/Copier Setup

The department multi-function printer is the Xerox WorkCentre 7855.   It is actually a

  • high-speed color laser printer (double sided)
  • color scanner - (double-sided, sends PDF by email)
  • fax

Copier

To use the copier function, you will need a copy code.  Each faculty can get a 4-digit copy code from Loretta, Susan, Stacey, Elvia, or whoever we hire to do this.    The number of pages printed using each copy code is kept track of by the machine so that the cost for copying (paper, cartridge, etc) can be accounted for.  Please be considerate by printing only during business hours and finish by 4:30pm.

Scanner

You can use the same copy code to access the scanner function.  Just choose mail PDF from the touch screen, and use it to scan single- or double-sided pages instead of copying.  There is no charge to use the scanner function, but a copy code is still needed.

Printer

The Xerox also works as a networked printer.  You need to

  • Download the device driver (Mac driver) for your computer
  • Add the printer. If it does not show up automatically, you may have to specify the address of 128.195.156.27 using the Line Printer Daemon (LPD) protocol as a generic postscript printer.

When printing from your computer, please print no more than 25 copies of any document in a batch.
