The Computer Engineering Prelim will take place on Wednesday, April 26 2017 in CalIT2 2008.
It will cover 3 subjects: OS (EECS 111), architecture (EECS 112), and algorithms (EECS 114).
Undergraduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and UCI staff and faculty supporting STEM student success are invited to an April 26 forum and lunch with National Science Foundation (NSF) Program Director James Luther Moore III. Moore presents on practical ways for students and campus representatives to support engineering career preparation, graduate education, and STEM funding. The program begins at noon at Calit2 Auditorium.
Hosted by the UC Irvine Career Center, the Spring Career Fair is an opportunity for students and employers alike to get to meet each other face to face. Employers will have part-time, full-time, and internship positions availible for interested UCI students.
Title: "An Overview of Data Centers"
Speaker: Nader Bagherzadeh, Department of EECS, UC Irvine
Abstract: In this talk an overview of data centers is presented. Some of the current accomplishments by major players in this field are discussed. There will be a focus on the performance and power consumption. As data centers become more wide spread, there is a need for better understanding of their capabilities and shortcomings. Machine learning and its impact on data centers will be touched upon as well.
